TWO WAYS TO THE WATER
A beach day.
Or just a moment.
Two public access options are about half a mile from the house, by the hosts’ estimate. We choose between them depending on what we’re carrying and how long we plan to stay.
| Access | Our usual choice | What to plan for |
|---|---|---|
| Inlet Beach Regional Access End of South Orange Street | A full beach day. We usually drive so we can bring all the gear. | Vehicle parking, restrooms, showers and dune walkovers. Lifeguard coverage and chair/umbrella rentals may be seasonal or weather-dependent; confirm current service. The owner’s notes list 117 spaces and three walkovers; current capacity should be checked before relying on it. |
| Winston Lane At the Rosemary Beach border | Morning coffee, a quick dip or sunset. We enjoy this smaller access for a nicer walk. | Bike parking, but no vehicle parking, restrooms or showers. Pack accordingly and follow current public-access boundaries and signs. |
THE PEDESTRIAN TUNNEL
Across Highway 98,
under the road.
The owner reports that the new Highway 98 pedestrian tunnel is open. It provides a walking and cycling connection toward Winston Lane, Rosemary Beach, Seacrest and Alys Beach without crossing the highway at street level.
Follow the marked route and current signs. Conditions can change; use care at local street crossings and check current access before setting out.
Distances and travel times are approximate. Beach flags, weather, access rules, staffing and rental service can change. Confirm current conditions before entering the water. This page is local planning information, not a confirmation of stay availability or property readiness.
